Appointment Information

New Normal

Your appointment may occur by phone or by telehealth (video link) instead of in person. If your appointment is virtual, please ensure you are in a private location with no distractions during the scheduled appointment time, and that the sound and video on your electronic device are enabled. If your appointment is in person, please wear a medical mask if you are sick. One can be provided if needed.

First Appointment

Once we receive a referral, the referred child or youth will be added to our waitlist and we will contact the caregiver or responsible adolescent patient to book an appointment. Typically, the first appointment lasts 60-90 minutes. The appointment will likely be in our office, but it may be at the UHNBC (hospital) Paediatric Clinic. We will confirm the location with you at the time of booking. We are proud to be a teaching clinic for medical students and residents, and patients may be seen by one of these medical learners.

Follow Up Appointments

The paediatrician will advise you of the plans for a follow up appointment at the end of each appointment. Our office will contact you closer to the expected follow up time to schedule the appointment. Follow up appointments are between 20 and 60 minutes.
